Why am I always late? Why? I hate it. I hate it to pieces. Why do I put everything off until it all needs to be done in an utterly unreasonable amount of time, to the point that there's no possible outcome other than my unbelievable lateness and. I just loathe myself for this.

I have to go get dressed, dry my hair, put on makeup, run to the bank, run to the grocery store, come home, unpack groceries, change into another outfit and be OUT THE DOOR by 4:15PM. There is no other option! I must! I must adhere to this schedule!

In other news: The OC was adorable and funny last night, and Angel was disturbing and funny last night. The latter was made even MORE disturbing because my VCR cut off the last seven minutes. I swear, there are gnomes living in my VCRs who do not want me to watch Whedon shows. It's the only explanation! That or I'm just...not very good at planning things?

That couldn't be it!

Off to frantically putter around. Oh! And I have to put drops in the stupid cat's eye, too! Dammit!

Okay, off to be frantic.

remember when Summer said "You weren't the only virgin in the room." and Seth said "What? There was someone else in the room?"

.... yeah, that was funny.

I'm always late, too. And I'm starting to be OK with it because I just don't think I can change. Today, for example, I needed to be in DC for a 12:45 meeting (aside -- who the hell schedules a meeting to start at 12:45?). Considering that I live about an hour from DC, it was kind of crazy to think that I could leave at 11:45 *and* get there early enough to find parking. So what time did I actually leave? 11:58.

Shockingly, I was only about five minutes late to my meeting because a miracle occurred in the form of a parking space right in front of the school. My secret? I did not shower or put on makeup or complete my reading for the class scheduled to begin later in the afternoon. See, it's all in the planning and the tradeoffs and the multi-tasking (and the exceeding the speed limit all the way down the Baltimore-Washington Parkway).

Dude, we are so on the same wavelength -- reading about you getting ready for/driving to/arriving at your meeting is like reliving dozens of days like that I've had. And you're right, I'm not going to change. Like today -- I had all day to get ready to go drop a check off at the university, and, naturally, ended up running out of the house without showering, putting on makeup, or doing anything more than running my hands through my hair, and arriving at the bursar literally four minutes before closing.

I must simply learn to accept my terribly tardy self.
