So I'm taking this class called "The Sociology of Human Rights" and it's a good class, except for the part where it makes me realize my shortcomings. I mean, I sit there in class and am all fired up. I watch a video on Pinochet's regime in Chile and have the following internal monologue:

Scary Recesses of Jess's Mind: This is HORRIBLE! This is TERRIBLE! I can't believe the United States SUPPORTED this! I can't believe we secretly overthrew a democratically elected government! Well, I can, but it still sucks! I have to DO SOMETHING! I should go out and TELL PEOPLE! People should KNOW! I'm going to write letters! I'm going to work for an independent media outlet and ENLIGHTEN PEOPLE! I'm going to CHANGE THE WORLD! I'm going to -- ooh, Combos! Yummy. But now I've had something salty and want something sweet. But I have to have dinner soon, so I shouldn't get a whole candy bar. Maybe eat half a candy bar and throw the rest out? But that's so wasteful. Ooh, have to remember tape Dawson's Creek again. I can't believe I've started watching that again. When is this class over?

On that note, I'm going to go watch my tape of Felicity and continue avoiding my schoolwork. Because I know what's really important. The WB.
