the lake house

The Lake House is why I could never be a movie critic. You see, I know the movie has flaws - the ending makes no sense, and the whole writing-across-time has logic holes, and there are a few corny lines and failed attempts at profundity - but the thing is, I don't care. I really don't. Keanu Reeves was cute and I liked Sandra Bullock's haircut, I was totally invested in their relationship, and there were moments where I got REALLY STRESSED OUT (in a good way) over events in the movie, and that's what I care about! Who cares if there are corny lines and the movie's internal logic doesn't hold up to close scrutiny? Persuasion by Jane Austen is mentioned multiple times in the movie! Keanu and Sandra were charming and convincingly in love! That's enough for me!
Thumbs up from me. Loved it, can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can watch it on rainy afternoons.
