May. 20th, 2003 12:39 pmSeriously upsetting news: Calgon has discontinued my signature scent! No more Calgon In the Rain bodyspray! Or at least not at my local WalMart, and I refuse to tour the WalMarts of upstate New York looking for three-dollar body spray. I do have limits.
This is very sad, people. And I know some of you would say the fact that I, a 22-year-old self-respecting woman with an okay-paying job, just described Calgon body spray as my "signature scent" is the true sad aspect of this tale, but that's neither here nor there. Or maybe it is both here and there, but I don't care. The point is: What will I do??
I bought another version of Calgon spray stuff (a small bottle for $1.54 as a test run), which I decided while in the store was the best of the bunch. Then I got it home, put it on, stepped out of the bathroom to find my shoes, and went back to check my makeup only to be blindsided by the sheer strength and ickiness of the smell in there. It smelled like disinfectant, or possibly something you'd use to get the skunk stink off of a cat. Calgon, why have you betrayed me so?
I am faced with the fact that I may have to actually spend some money and purchase some quality perfume or something, because I can't operate for long sans-perfume or body spray. I'm too paranoid about smelling bad (one of my many irrational paranoid quirks, along with my fear of oven doors slamming shut on my arm when I reach in to get food, and my inability to sleep with the closet door open). This will be my goal for the week/weekend: Search out a signature scent that does not retail at WalMart. I hope I'm up to the task.
