attack of the killer paperback
Jul. 9th, 2001 01:05 amAm reading terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad book. Said book is driving me batty. I bought it last week while on vacation in a grocery store because I wanted a nice cheesy beach book and am determined to finish all 379 pages of it. I was not anticipating a literary masterpiece, but was hoping for more than utter crap. But I refuse to throw out another book without finishing it. Refuse!
Perhaps there will be a remarkable turnaround in the last third of the book. Perhaps the author has just been holding back. One can dream.
Saw Legally Blonde over the weekend. Enjoyed it so much more than I expected to. Maybe everyone else in the world will think it sucks ass, but I loved it in a remarkably guilt-free way. (As opposed to the way I love Pretty Woman or She's All That or the Ally Sheedy transformation in The Breakfast Club, where I feel all icky and guilty afterwards.) Anyway, I enjoyed it. Lots. May see it again.
Other exciting weekend events:
-Made a mall run that resulted in enjoyable new clothes. Got a jean skirt, which I had been craving for a while. Don't know why, but now I have one.
-Car was inspected. Sticker now matches car. Had to hold self back from lifting 'N Sync Entertainment Weekly from Car Fixing Place. My will was strong and I did not dash out with magazine shoved under shirt. I am frightened by how close I came, though.
-I feel I may be converting one of my friends to 'N Sync fandom. Spoke at length to her about my latest (and perhaps most embarrassing) obsession, and pointed them out on a poster in the mall. She seemed amused and said she would watch the Making the Video of Pop should I ever find my tape of it. I will convert her!
And that is all.
