Went to see A.I. tonight. It was good, more disturbing than I'd anticipated, but good. Man, Haley Joel Osment just kills me! He did in The Sixth Sense before and again tonight -- he had me crying buckets into my faux butter popcorn topping-stained napkin. I will probably break out due to the massive amount of oil deposited in my pores, but the only other option was using the heel of my hand to wipe my eyes and snort loudly, which I figured would draw more attention. I hate crying in movies, I always feel like a big wuss.

Watched Awakenings this afternoon, and cried there too. I can't take these sad movies! I now have an overwhelming desire to see Legally Blonde, which I'm almost positive won't make me cry. Doesn't come out for two weeks, though. Dammit. I need a cheesy romantic comedy!

On a completely unrelated note, I am noticing more and more frequently that I am misspelling words. I have always considered myself an okay speller, and am now faced with two unhappy explanations:

(1) I have always been a bad speller and am only now realizing it,

or

(2) I was a good speller before and my brain is rotting away, hours of mindless soap opera viewing and magazine reading finally taking its toll.

Neither option is particularly appealing. Suck in the past or suck in the future -- but I don't want to suck at all! Maybe this is just a minor incident, a blip on the radar that will go away as mysteriously as it appeared. Here's hoping.

A friend from high school called me today, out of the blue. Which makes that the second time that's happened in the past five days -- weirdness! Haven't talked to either girl since last summer and it's nice to reconnect. I'd missed them without realizing it.

Off to watch something uplifting before I hit the sack.
