I've found that teaching someone to read is one of the strangest (yet most rewarding) teaching experiences out there. Like, for me, it's hard to break it all down, b/c it's like "duh, just, you know, read the letters that are there!" And when they don't get it, it's all "whazza? howza? NO DON'T MAKE UP SYLLABLES THAT AREN'T THERE!!" but then when they DO get it, it's totally farking awesome and exciting.

Teaching reading comprehension made my head explode, though. I don't think it is my ideal field.

Was the Hepburn/Grant movie Charade?
