oh, you! [This is very exciting because last week I decided to go to Paris in the SPRING with the BANDIT, and, um, it's all about me? Anyhow, I get to feel all EUROPE-ish when I read you LJ, and it reminds me of Paris in the Spring with the Bandit, and that makes me happy.]
Also, soft-pedal it on the traveler's checks - you don't really need them, in my experience. I took them in 96 when I went to Europe and didn't even use them, then, and haven't taken them since. I don't know where you're going, exactly, but I would take a goodly hunk of cash for emergencies, and then use the credit card. And, you know, ATMs. And you should know your emergency PINs for using your credit card at an ATM [although it does cost you extra.] Er, not that I'm so sure this is useful at the moment.
