I think Ginger Rogers comes across so well because her real personality seems to have been pretty friendly and down-to-earth. When she was doing a book tour to promote her autobiography, she came to Seattle and did a local TV show, and I got tickets, and my mom and aunt and I went together--this is one of my all-time favorite experiences ever. The BEST part was that as we were leaving the TV studio, a limo pulled out in front of us, and there was Ginger Rogers riding in the front passenger seat! We waved at her, and she waved back.
