I actually like the newest Carly a lot! I don't know if I like her as much as I liked TB or SB, but she's pretty good. Not as bad as the Carly that immediately preceded her, at least. I'm looking forward to the baby-raising story because think she's got good chemistry with Jax (I think TB had good chemistry with him, too. She had good chemistry with everyone - I found an old tape the other day with a Zander/Carly scene on it. I totally forgot that they had an almost-romance-thing!).

Danny is Sam's developmentally disabled younger brother, who pops up from time to time so that Sam can have something to do other than stare tearfully at Jason. He's totally a redshirt in the MMMSOE story.

And I think you're right about Nikolas being the father of Courtney's baby, now that you mention it. When did Jax become so baby-obsessed? What is up with that? Isn't he a billionaire? Couldn't he hire a harem of women to have his children?
